Sheila Majid's frustration over the rising cost of living has left Treasury secretary-general Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah puzzled.

"Why is she complaining about the cost of living? What's her income?" he asked during a press conference in Cyberjaya this evening.

On Tuesday, the singer tweeted that Malaysians are angry for having to deal with a "debt" that they had no part in creating.

However, Irwan said people who make such complaints are confused between the cost of living and the cost of lifestyle.
