Viet ‘Datuk’ charged over RM350k bribe to release fishing boats

The 41-year-old Vietnamese “Datuk” who was remanded last week for allegedly offering bribes to Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) officers to release detained fishing boats, was charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today.

Tran Thi Mai, who is also known as Maimunah, was charged with two counts of bribing an MMEA director to the total of RM350,000.
