Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad has brushed aside Indonesian vice-president Muhammad Jusuf Kalla's demand for an apology over the "Bugis remark".
"I didn't say anything about Jusuf Kalla or the Bugis community. The only Bugis I was referring to is Najib (Abdul Razak)," he told reporters in Putrajaya today.
Yesterday, Jusuf Kalla, who himself is Bugis, said he was shocked by Mahathir's "Bugis remark" and demanded his apology.
The remark was uttered during Pakatan Harapan's "anti-kleptocracy" rally on Oct 14, which saw Mahathir calling Najib a descendant of "Bugis pirates"...
