The Prime Minister has promised good news for entrepreneurs as he sets out to boost the entrepreneurial sector in the 2018 Budget.
Najib Abdul Razak said the good news would go a long way to prove the government's commitment to providing support to the country's entrepreneurial sector, especially for village entrepreneurs to become global players.
He said during the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP) alone, the government allocated RM1.04 billion to implement various entrepreneurship development programmes under the ministry of rural and regional development.
Of the amount, RM520.1 million was allocated for entrepreneurship development programmes under Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), while the balance of RM521.12 million was given out to other agencies under the ministry to implement their programmes.
For the first two years of the 11MP, RM253.68 million as allocated to the ministry to implement entrepreneurship development programmes, he said when opening the Village Entrepreneurship Carnival (KUD 2017) at the Putra World Trade Putra Centre in Kuala Lumpur today.
