A Sabah political party leader, who is under detention to assist investigation into the misappropriation of a RM180 million fund meant for rural projects in the state, was admitted to the KPJ Damai Hospital last night.
According to sources, the 46-year-old man, whose remand was extended by three days beginning yesterday to assist in the case, was admitted to the hospital due to lack of water in the body and high blood pressure.
However, the latest condition of the individual concerned is yet to be determined.
The individual was among seven people detained by MACC under Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009 regarding the siphoning of rural project funds amounting to RM180 million, which was part of the RM1.5 billion estimated to have been misappropriated by a ministry between the year 2009 and 2015.
