The Office of Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abd Kadir has denied a news report quoting him as saying that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng wanted to create religious conflict.
This is in regard to a Bernama news report yesterday, titled "Lim Guan Eng wants to create conflict between religions, claims Perak MB".
"He only said that (Lim's) accusations that Umno was anti-religion because of Malaysia's close ties with China were shallow.
"He never said that Lim tried to create religious tensions," the MB's Office said in a statement today.
Zambry had commented on Lim following a tweet by the latter.
Lim claimed that Umno and PAS agents had slandered the DAP as communists, while it was Umno which was friendly with the Communist Party of China.
"Now, who is anti-religion?" Lim asked in the tweet.
