The MACC has arrested Parti Warisan Sabah vice president Peter Anthony today.
Peter was arrested when he presented himself at the MACC office in Kota Kinabalu to have his statement recorded.
The MACC confirmed the arrest, according to Free Malaysia Today.
The report said Peter will be produced at the magistrate's court tomorrow for remand.
There had been much chatter among Warisan leaders hours prior to Peter's arrest.
Several senior MACC officers were reported to have arrived in Sabah.
Yesterday, MACC reportedly seized some RM150 million in cash in a series of raids in the state.
The MACC claimed the existence of a syndicate where government infrastructure projects were declared completed and payment claimed even though the projects were not carried out.
MACC deputy chief commissioner of operations Azam Baki had confirmed that an operation was underway but declined to name the ministry involved.
Peter was reported to have been a recipient of projects with the Rural and Regional Development Ministry, which was previously helmed by Shafie Apdal.
He had denied wrongdoing, stressing that he received the contracts based on proper procedure.
Shafie now helms Warisan after he was dropped as a minister in 2015 for questioning Najib's role in the 1MDB scandal.
He subsequently quit Umno to form a Sabah-based party in an attempt to dislodge Umno from the state.
