Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) has 1.5 million unit holders aged six months to 18 years with a total investment of RM6.746 billion, Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) chairperson Abdul Wahid Omar said.
He said they represented 11.4 percent of the total 13.1 million unit holders who invested in 10 ASNB unit trust products recorded as at Aug 31 this year.
The age group of six months to 18 years is among PNB's target in the ‘Didik Pelabur’ programme organised annually, Wahid added.
"As an institution mandated to manage and strengthen bumiputera equity ownership, we want to play an important role in producing young people who can manage their money wisely," he in a statement issued at the close of Fiesta Labur PNB 2017 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre today.
Wahid said the four-day programme was organised by ASNB to realise PNB's goal in delivering investment information to the public, especially residents of Putrajaya and its surrounding areas.
