Petrol prices are set to increase for the second consecutive week, according to an announcement by the Domestic Trade, Co-Operatives and Consumerism Ministry.
RON95 and RON97 petrol will see an increase of four sen, bringing the new prices to RM2.20 and RM2.48 per litre respectively.
Meanwhile, diesel will see an increase of one sen, bringing the new price to RM2.05 per litre.
Petrol prices had climbed steadily since July 27, with the exception for the week of August 17 to 24 where prices remained unchanged.
As for diesel, it will be the second increase after two continuous weeks of marginal decline.
The weekly fuel price system was implemented on March 30.
It is determined by global oil price based on the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) and the ringgit's strength against the US dollar.
