The weekly fuel prices are set to increase marginally, at between one to three sen, effective midnight, according to an announcement by the Domestic Trade, Co-Operatives and Consumerism Ministry.
RON95 and RON97 petrol will see an increase of one sen, bringing the new prices to RM2.16 and RM2.44 per litre respectively.
Meanwhile, diesel will see an increase of three sen, bringing the new price to RM2.04 per litre.
Petrol prices had climbed steadily since July 27, with the exception of the current weekly prices which were unchanged from the week before.
As for diesel, it will be the first increase after two continuous weeks of marginal decline.
The weekly fuel price system was implemented on March 30.
It is determined by global oil price based on the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) and the ringgit's strength against the US dollar.
