In his bid to attract Indian votes for Pakatan Harapan in the next general election, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is now reportedly courting supporters of former MIC president G Palanivel.
According to Tamil daily Makkal Osai, the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairperson extended an invitation to the Palanivel camp earlier this week, and they are expected to meet him as early as next week.
Palanivel was ousted from his position after a leadership tussle within the party, which saw an internal split into two camps, one under him and the other under current president Dr S Subramaniam.
