The Nothing to Hide 2.0 forum was meant to be a no holds-barred debate as well as question and answer session involving Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his nemesis Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
As expected, Najib did not turn up while Mahathir's session came to an abrupt end when the forum took a violent twist with flares being ignited and slippers as well as chairs being thrown.
According to Umno supreme council member Mohd Puad Zarkashi, the forum turned out to be a colossal embarrassment for the 92-year-old former premier.
“He was left embarrassed because... Nothing to Hide turned into Mahathir looking for 'hiding' (sic) from the flying chairs and slippers.
“In the end, Mahathir went home embarrassed. Twenty-two years of being prime minister, and slippers were lobbed at him,” he added in a media statement this evening.
