The National Registration Department wants documentary proof of allegations that Penang-born businessperson Jho Low has dual citizenship.

It has asked Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik, who filed a complaint on the matter, to furnish a copy of documents showing Low is a citizen of St Kitts and Nevis, as well as his passport from the Caribbean nation.

NRD director Mohamad Shukri Nawi in a letter to Ng dated July 25, said the documents were "very important to support the stripping (of Low's) Malaysian citizenship."
