AUDIT REPORT | A six-year delay in project completion was among the reasons that led to the Rawang Bypass project cost bloating 208.7 percent to RM628.14 million.
The contractor had secured the RM203.47 million contract via direct tender. Work on the 23km road project commenced in July 2005 and was slated for completion in January 2008.
However, Extensions of Time (EOT) for 2,132 days were approved causing the contractor to claim losses and expenses amounting to RM7.88 million.
