The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ruled there is no need for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to answer the allegation that he committed contempt of court with regard to a press statement he issued two weeks ago.

Justice Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim said the press statement issued on July 7 did not indicate that Najib was referring to the ongoing court case between Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir and the prime minister's aide Tengku Sarifuddin Tengku Ahmad.
