Gerakan filed a defamation suit against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for his claim that the party under its former head Koh Tsu Koon sold reclaimed land for RM1 per square foot.

The suit was filed at the Penang High Court by the party's secretary-general Liang Teck Meng and his lawyer cum Gerakan national legal and human rights bureau chief Baljit Singh.

The suit was filed based on articles published in Malaysiakini on March 17, 2013 and May 18 this year, in DAP Malaysia website on March 23, 2013 and Jan 2 this year, in The Edge Market on Dec 5, 2013, on Lim's Facebook page on May 18 this year and on his website on Jan 2 this year...
