Regardless of whether Dr Mahathir Mohamad considers himself "top dog" of Pakatan Harapan, the true power within the opposition coalition lies with DAP.

According to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's aide Tengku Sarifuddin Tengku Ahmad, this is because Mahathir's Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has only one seat in Parliament while DAP has 37.

"Mahathir's party has just one parliamentary seat compared to DAP's 37 - the vast majority of opposition seats.
