Opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to probe whether there were elements of corruption and conspiracy involved in the disappearance of millions of ringgit worth of military radar system from the Tanjung Pelepas port in Johor.
Wan Azizah said the incident was a serious breach of the country's security.
"The disappearance not only involves military equipment, which may have been stolen or smuggled out of the country, but also raises questions about the level of security in one of the most important ports in the country.
"The Customs Department and the port management should have had top-notch security in place. If military radar equipment can be so easily stolen or smuggled out, what about drugs, human smuggling and consignment of dangerous items?" she asked in a statement today...
