An Umno division leader has censured the opposition for training its guns on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's wife Rosmah Mansor regarding the US Department of Justice's (DOJ) latest civil forfeiture suit in relations to 1MDB.

Syed Ali Alhabshee regretted that certain quarters with vested interests are implicating Rosmah in the case.

"When something is inaccurate, it means that it is false. So why spread an untruth, this is slander.

"This is part of the slander by Umno's enemies. They are making the prime minister's wife a sacrificial lamb to bring down a democratically elected government," he said in a blog post.
