PKR lawmaker R Sivarasa has apologised to Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah for making a speech in the prayer hall of Masjid An-Nur, Kampung Melayu Subang.
Sivarasa in a statement today said he had sent a letter to the sultan on Monday explaining what actually happened during the programme on May 24.
“In that letter, I had explained to the sultan that my short speech was not a ceramah, neither was it a political speech,” he said.
The Subang MP however noted the sultan’s speech made last Friday in which the ruler had stressed that mosques should not be used for politics, be it by Muslims or non-Muslims.
