The Penang Islamic Religious Affairs Committee has advised Muslims and non-Muslims not to be confused by the kind of Islam propagated by NGO Jaringan Muslimin Pulau Pinang (JMPP).
Committee chair and state executive councillor Abdul Malik Abul Kassim said preventing non-Muslims from attending buka puasa (breaking of fast) events with Muslims is “against true Islamic teachings”.
JMPP leader Hafiz Nordin had urged Muslims to bar Lim from attending buka puasa events this Ramadan during a rally speech last Friday at the Simpang Enam mosque near Komtar.
