PKR Youth has accused Umno of leaving PAS red-faced again with regard to the government's new stand on PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's private member's bill.

"Sadly, Umno has chosen to make a fool of PAS just like what happened in 1977 when PAS was kicked out of the federal government (during the time of former prime minister Hussein Onn).

"Selangor PKR Youth sees this as an old story that has repeated itself,” said Selangor PKR Youth legal bureau chief Muhd Harris Idaham Abd Rashid in a statement.

Last night, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak announced that the government has decided not to take over Hadi's private member's bill to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdictions) Act, or Act 355.

Muhd Harris said nearly a year after the bill was tabled, PAS now realises it has been in a “fantasy scripted by Umno-BN”...
