"I am a friend of Malaysia, a true friend of the whole of Malaysia."
So said China's ambassador to Malaysia, Huang Huikang when dismissing claims he enjoyed a close relationship with only political parties of the BN, especially MCA, as reported by an online news portal recently.
Instead, he said that as Malaysia's friend, he established good relations with all parties, including opposition party politicians, adding that this was proven when he visited opposition-ruled states, including Penang, for official purposes.
"I have travelled across cities and states in Malaysia, I have visited Penang many times, have joined the Penang chief minister...I also attended the opening ceremony of the Second Bridge of Penang (Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah)," said Huang.
He was speaking to the media after calling on Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah at Wisma Darul Aman in Alor Setar today.
