Legendary actor Jins Shamsuddin died today. He was 81.

Jins died at a clinic in Taman Melawati, said his son Putera Hang Jebat.

He said his father complained of difficulty breathing when having tea at home and was rushed to the clinic at 5.45pm.

"When my mother realised that my father was having chest pains, she rushed him to the clinic but he had passed away upon arriving there," Putera Hang Jebat said to Bernama at his home in Jalan Datuk Abu Samah, Sungai Pasir, Hulu Kelang, tonight.

Putera Hang Jebat said his father's remains would be brought to the Hulu Kelang Mosque for prayers before being laid to rest at the Hulu Kelang Muslim Cemetery tomorrow morning.

Jins leaves behind his wife, Halijah Abdullah, and three sons, Putera Jefri Jins, Putera Hang Jebat and Putera Hang Nadim.

The actor was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2011.
