Bersih deputy chairperson Shahrul Aman Mohd Saari has vowed that Bersih 5 rally will go on despite the arrest of its leader Maria Chin Abdullah.

"Yes, we will go on as schedule," Shahrul told Malaysiakini this evening.

Earlier today, Maria and the electoral reform movement’s secretariat secretary Mandeep Singh were arrested under Section 124C and Section 147 of the Penal Code respectively.
