Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar has instructed that former minister Zaid Ibrahim be summoned for an explanation over his tweet.

In a tweet, the police chief, who is currently abroad for a conference, said the former law minister’s remarks were seditious and confusing.

“Zaid has the right to express disappointment over the court decision regarding his case, but must refrain from slandering others.

“As a former law minister, he should be aware of the legal ramifications,” Khalid told Malaysiakini.
