National car manufacturer Proton often finds itself pinned in the middle of the collision between Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

In his speech this afternoon, Najib once again raised the issue when he accused his predecessor, whom he did not name, of neglecting public transportation due to the drive to put more Proton cars on the road.
