Cosmetics millionaire Hasmiza Othman, or better known as 'Datuk Seri Vida', was charged in the Sessions Court in Ipoh today with 32 charges under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act 2014.

However, she pleaded not guilty to all the charges after they were read out to her before Sessions judge Murtazadi Amran.

Hasmiza, 45, who is the owner of Vida Beauty Sdn Bhd, was charged with failing to submit GST statement and pay GST of about RM4.2 million between April 2015 and July 2016.

Murtazadi set bail at RM1.76 million on all charges and also ordered the businesswoman to surrender her passport to the court.

The prosecution was represented by deputy public prosecutors Raja Rozela Raja Toran and Farah Ezlin Yusop Khan, while Hasmiza was represented by lawyers Khairilazwar Khalil and Syed Ahmad Syed Abas.

The court set Nov 15 for mention.
