Bersih supporters attacked
Red shirts activists attacked Bersih supporters with eggs while one was pulled off his motorcycle and kicked.
Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos, who leads the red shirts, vowed to be more aggressive next time.
Meanwhile, a group of Umno grassroots NGOs said it plans to shadow the Bersih 5 rally on Nov 19.
PAS nudged to accept DAP
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Muhyiddin Yassin said if the opposition coalition comes into power, the power-sharing will include Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) and DAP.
This was despite PAS’ refusal to work with DAP and insistence that those who want to cooperate with the Islamic party must ditch DAP.
However, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said PAS had benefited when it worked with DAP and warned that the party may lose many seats if it refuses to cooperate this time.
Meanwhile, Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak questioned Muhyiddin's changing stance since his Umno days, pointing out that the former deputy prime minister previously declared himself "Malay first" but is now speaking up for DAP.
Sabah points to Putrajaya in graft case
Around 60 percent of the RM3.3 billion allocation for water infrastructure projects in Sabah, overseen by two senior civil servant, was siphoned.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had arrested the duo and seized RM114.5 million in cash and assets but DAP parliamentary leader said it isn't enough if the graft buster doesn't act on 1MDB.
Umno's Tenom MP Raime Unggi urged the MACC to expand its probe beyond the two, including investigating the minister involved at the federal level. He also noted the graft went back to 2010.
Meanwhile, former rural and regional development minister Shafie Apdal said the Sabah government should not be hasty in trying to claim that the graft happened during his time.
In a related development, Bersatu vice-president Mukhriz Mahathir sarcastically suggested the duo arrested who amassed RM141.5 million should claim it was an "Arab donation", in reference to the prime minister's justification of RM2.6 billion in his personal bank accounts.
