The Education Ministry is investigating two cases involving two teachers who allegedly sexually abused their students.

Police are also probing the case, Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid said.

A 50-year-old teacher was arrested in Besut, Terengganu recently over claims he molested three students while a disciplinary teacher in Telupid, Sabah is arrested for allegedly raping three students aged 10 and under.

"I am very disappointed by this news, and how a teacher can be accused of such a thing. It is now a police matter.

"But we are also conducting internal investigations at department and ministry level on what action can be taken on the accused if the cases are proven," Bernama reported him as telling reporters in Jelebu today.
