PAS has echoed Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in cautioning against foreigners meddling in matters related to 1MDB.
All quarters should not allow any room for foreigners to intervene our affairs, said PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, as reported by Mingguan Malaysia today.
He also opined that 1MDB should be probed by Malaysians rather than foreigners.
"What is important is the case should be probed fairly and transparently by our own people. Do not go to the extent that others can meddle in our business. It is our own fault if this happens.”
He added whether Premier Najib Razak needed to go on leave or quit, was not his business. “We want to change the government in a democratic and moral manner,” he emphasised.
BN leaders including Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, had warned "foreign meddling" may cause conflict and civil war in Malaysia, as it did in Iraq and Syria.
The US Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking to seize assets allegedly acquired with monies stolen from 1MDB, from Hollywood movie producer Riza Aziz who is Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's step-son, and controversial financier Jho Low.
The suit also mentioned a certain unnamed 'Malaysian Official 1' as being a high ranking member of the government related to Riza, and held a position of influence in 1MDB, as being instrumental and having full knowledge of the alleged misappropriation of public funds.
