Is the auditor-general's report on 1MDB still under wraps because it would lead to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's downfall, asked DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang.

"The question Najib and all cabinet ministers have to answer is whether the public release of the auditor-general’s report on 1MDB will lead inevitably to Najib’s departure as prime minister and Umno president?

"Is this the reason why Najib is fighting tooth and nail to suppress the auditor-general’s report on 1MDB?" he asked in a statement today.

Lim also asked if the auditor-general's report on 1MDB had been presented to the cabinet.

"If so, what was the cabinet’s stand on it?"

The auditor-general's findings on 1MDB are currently classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

The contents of the report however, have reportedly been leaked by whistleblower site Sarawak Report.
