COMMENT We were all saying that Sarawakians had a golden opportunity to send a strong message to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak about the biggest scandal that has rocked the world. Instead, Sarawakians chose to give its Chief Minister, Adenan Satem, the mandate.

The onus is now on voters from Sungai Besar in Selangor and Kuala Kangsar in Perak. Will they return in droves for the twin by-elections on June 18? Their return is crucial in deciding whether the Barisan Nasional (BN) or Parti Amanah Negara candidate will win in these two by-elections.

It is unlikely that PAS will win in any of these two by-elections because they have been played out by Umno over the hudud issue. The question is whether they will make a dent to Umno or Amanah’s vote base.
