PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli continues to draw flak over his revelations concerning Rosmah Mansor's use of a government private jet.
Her aide Rizal Mansor pointed out that the opposition lawmaker attempted to give the impression that the flight to Istanbul on May 27 cost taxpayers RM86.4 million.
"I find it curious and strange when Rafizi tries to give the impression that the prime minister's wife lived in the clouds for two months on the aircraft, and it cost RM86 million.
"The fact is Rosmah only spent 26 hours on the aircraft for the to-and-fro flight from Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul," he said in a Facebook post.
This morning, Rafizi claimed the two-month lease of the Airbus ACJ319 would cost the government approximately RM86.4 million.
This was after revealing yesterday that Rosmah flew in the aircraft to Turkey to accept the 3G Children Welfare Award on behalf of early childhood programme Permata.
Rizal had explained that the ACJ319 was leased for two months to replace the government Airbus ACJ320 which was undergoing maintenance.
He added that the aircraft was for the country's dignitaries including the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Rosmah as the wife of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak qualified for its usage.
Earlier, Cheras Umno chief Syed Ali Alhabshee also criticised Rafizi for raising perceived and imaginary allegations against the prime minister and his wife.
He urged the Pandan lawmaker to concentrate on serving his constituents instead.
