Hadi's Bill not about hudud law, Najib tells BN component parties
Appum: From the PM's explanation, it looks like all the component parties' bosses and members are bloody fools. They have many lawyers in their respective parties but they don't seem to understand the implication of this Hudud Bill compared to an economics trained PM.
Why the need to conduct a damage control exercise publicly when administratively Najib could have explained these to his partners. Is he trying to test the partners in cahoots with PAS?
Now when an ultimatum is given by the partners, Najib comes quickly to explain. But the point of the matter is, can you believe and accept Najib's explanation?
He seems unreliable in giving answers, like the 1MDB saga. One moment he says this and in another, he says that. This bill, as it is understood, is the forerunner to a complete hudud implementation.
It always starts with one state – Kelantan – and then next it will be forced down our throat nationally. For a secular nation, constitutionally we cannot accept any form of hudud unless Kelantan secedes. This bill must be killed.
Ferdtan: What is happening? PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang introduced the hudud Private Member’s Bill and it was unprecedentedly fast-tracked to the top of the debate list by BN House speaker that suggested a sort of conspiracy between both parties.
Now this is further confirmed with Najib coming out on behalf of Hadi to explain the particulars of the bill, meaning both Najib and Hadi must be working secretly hand in glove.
PAS grassroots, don’t be so gullible; your president is sacrificing your party as his move would definitely frightened all non-Malay voters to the benefit of Umno.
Anonymous #05023297: This is PAS/Hadi "enhanced" law. Can the PM let them explain it themselves? Since when were you elected a spokesperson for them?
By the way, when you are required to speak, for example the 1MDB case, you zipped up and let your cabinet clowns to defend you instead.
Malaysian2: "I would like to clarify that the amendment (bill) is not hudud law, it is just to enhance the punishment from six times (of the rotan) to a few times, depending on the offences,” said Najib.
One hundred lashes are more than 16 times the current maximum. That sounds awful, to say the least.
Determined Sarawakian: What do you mean by "a few times"? Define that. How much the fines are increased to? Stipulate that.
What if non-Muslims are involved in the consequence of the actions - what do the syariah codes say or are they silent on them?
Myrights: How can the vague wording such as "a few times" be a better legal term describing the limits of punishment than the quantified "six times"? This is really warped logic, trying to justify something that is unjustifiable.
Don't think you can fool Malaysians that it will not involve non-Muslims. We have already seen too many cases of body snatching and forced child conversions.
Just come out in the open and admit that you need Hadi to support you to ensure your own political survival. It’s a case of 'I scratch your back, you scratch mine'.
Paul Warren: It does not matter that it only applies to Muslims. What is brutal in my eye, which is not an Islamic or Muslim eye, remains brutal and does not belong to this century or any for that matter.
And yes, it will bother me if a Muslim man or woman is subjected to any of these "enhanced" laws.
Anonyxyz: MCA, Gerakan, SUPP and MIC will now clap themselves on their back for a good job done in shadow boxing with Umno.
All these conspirators do know how to make easy money. By the way, Hadi has joined the gang too.
6th Generation Immigrant: What Najib is saying is abstractly different from what Hadi is selling. This only confirms that Hadi and Najib are scheming to pull the wool over the parliamentarians’ eyes.
PAS and Umno are definitely having an overt affair. BN component parties can't seem to divorce themselves from the adulterous Umno, no matter how they have been taken to the cleaners each time.
Kingfisher: If Najib is seen to be seemingly upright and smart in his political moves for a majority community, considering his present plight with a scandal shackling his political survival, this may be the only opportune time for the component parties to hold him by his wrist and make him accountable to all the pledges about his progressive policies for Malaysia's plural society.
SusahKes: Thanks. Najib, for the 'clarification'. Now, MCA and Gerakan will go to town telling everybody that they "fought" against hudud implementation, and what a 'great guy' the PM is; that he is caring and always 'listens'..
Anonymous$&@?: Najib, stop looking at just the elephant’s ass. Move backwards and you will see the big picture.
You think we are as stupid as your Umno and cabinet members? Think again.
SSDhaliwal: Even if it is not hudud yet, it is a sure and slow way for the camel (PAS) pushing the Arab out of the tent.
It is time for BN component parties to flex their puny muscles or further regress, if not already, to becoming Umno’s eunuchs.
