Jailed PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim was brought from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) where he was being warded for observation, to pay his last respects to his sister who passed away in Teras Jernang, Bangi, last night.
"DSAI (Anwar) was brought this morning to pay his last respects to his sister who passed away in Teras Jernang last night... it is sad to reflect on the passing of many beloved, without his presence by their side due to the enforced separation of prison bars," Anwar's wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail posted on her Facebook page this morning.
According to reports, Rehan Ibrahim, who was Anwar's younger sister, passed away in Teras Jernang last night and will be interred after zohor prayers today.
Anwar, who is currently serving a jail sentence in Sungai Buloh Prison, was earlier brought to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment and observation after he experienced irregular blood pressure.
Anwar's father died in April last year, two months after Anwar was jailed for sodomising his aide. He was allowed to attend the funeral.
