S'WAK POLLS Sarawak BN today launched a people-centred 15-point manifesto for the 11th state election aimed at safeguarding the interests of the state.
The manifesto themed 'Give Team Adenan A Chance', lays out BN's pledges to the people to achieve the shared aspirations for a more peaceful, progressive and prosperous Sarawak.
The manifesto was launched by Sarawak BN chairperson Adenan Satem at the PBB headquarters in Kuching ahead of the May 7 polls.
The incumbent chief minister and PBB president said the BN government had proven that it did not make empty promises and had along the way gained the people's trust.
The document lists the achievements of the Sarawak government under Adenan who became chief minister in 2014 and quickly introduced 53 principles and initiatives for the benefit of the people and the state.
The manifesto - available in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Chinese and Iban - stated 15 objectives, which are to:
Uphold the rights of Sarawak and its people;
Safeguard the peace and harmony of the state;
Preserve the Sarawak culture, heritage and beliefs;
Guarantee people's rights over their land;
Protect and conserve the natural environment;
Improve the welfare of the less-fortunate;
Provide more affordable housing for low and middle income groups;
Accelerate the development of roads and telecommunications, and the supply of piped water and electricity;
Enhance accessibility to health services;
Increase participation of women in socio-economic activities;
Recognise and develop the potential of youths;
Advance education and technical training;
Create more job opportunities for Sarawakians;
Develop a conducive business environment for investment and entrepreneurship; and
Industrialise the state through manufacturing, tourism and rural transformation.
