S'WAK POLLS Sarawakians can enjoy high-speed 4G broadband internet in the next five years if they give BN a bigger mandate, said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
"A big mandate for the state led by Chief Minister Adenan Satem is crucial as we have a big agenda for Sarawak in the next five years.
"You can count on me that the federal government will continue to cooperate, support and provide all the necessary funding that we are able to afford for Sarawak," Najib was quoted as saying in today's edition of the Borneo Post.
Speaking at a press conference in Lundj yesterday, Najib said the high-speed internet project, together with the Pan-Borneo Highway project, is part of the government's efforts to bring Sarawak up to par with the Peninsula.
He also promised other projects for the benefit of rural folks such as connecting them with water supplies and roads.
He also promised to improve schools throughout the state.
The opposition, especially DAP, has been making use of the internet to circumvent an immigration ban on some leaders.
Using Skype and a projector, leaders banned from Sarawak have been able to address voters in ceramah in urban areas to get their message across.
