Sarawak is once again under the microscope as it gears up for the 11th state election on May 7.
Being the largest state in the country, a myriad of issues are expected to take centrestage in the Sarawak election but one issue that has persisted even since the last state election is the state's controversial dam projects.
KiniTV travelled across Sarawak to find out what had happened to the communities affected by the Bakun and Murum dam, as well as explore the latest dam project in Baram, which has become one of the talking points in this election.
As part of its special report, KiniTV released its multilingual documentary on the issue.
The documentary documents the community threatened with displacement by the planned Baram dam and captures their hope - that the state government's suspension of the project will not merely be an election promise.
KiniTV also interviewed villagers who are still feeling the effects of two other dams in Bakun and Murum.
The documentary also looked at the bigger picture of why Sarawak is planning to build so many dams and queried the necessity of the various projects.
