A court today handed down an eight-month jail sentence on Malaysian actor Tony Eusoff after he pleaded guilty to possession of drugs.
Tony, 38, whose real name is Anthony Joseph Hermas Rajiman, was charged in court on March 31 for possession of Class A controlled drugs.
The Sarawak-born actor was accused of having been in possession of up to 4.56 grams of a vegetable substance that was analysed and found to contain traces of ganja.
Tony could have been jailed up to 10 years or fined up to S$20,000 (RM57,638) or both.
He was charged with having the drugs at the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority bus arrival hall at the Tuas checkpoint on March 12.
Film producer Vinod Shekar and several friends of the actor attended court.
Tony was reportedly in Singapore to film a drama.
Tony has starred in films such as 'Susuk', 'Sepi', 'Akhirat', 'Cinta' and 'Di Ambang Misteri'.
He also starred in theatre plays including Tunku The Musical, Rose, Rose I Love You, Broken Bridges - The Musical, Jalan Impian - The Musical, The Girl From Ipoh' and P. Ramlee - The Musical.
