Any movement to topple Johor Menteri Besar Khaled Nordin will not succeed, said Johor Umno Youth chief Hahasrin Hashim.

"We, from Johor Umno Youth, would like to stress that any movement to change the Johor MB is a nonsensical thing and a waste of time," Hahasrin said in a statement today.

He was responding to rumours sparked yesterday that there was a plot to topple Khaled, which he described as shocking.

Johor Umno Youth will stand steadfast by Khaled, who is also Umno Johor liaison chief, in fighting against any movements or rumours, Hahasrin added.

Under Khaled, many "great things" have happened in Johor, he said, citing the state's gross income growth of 6.5 percent valued at RM93.7 billion in 2014 alone.

Hahasrin also gave examples of the Johor Economic Growth Plan, Suara Hati Johor Plan and the state's annual budget which were tabled according to the people's ' needs.

Yesterday, the son of Johor state legislative assembly speaker Mohamad Aziz claimed there is a plot to topple Khaled as Johor menteri besar.

In a Facebook post, Shukur Mohamad alleged that the person behind the move is a deputy minister.

Later that day, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said dismissed the allegation, saying the issue never arose.

"The Johor MB is not like the former Kedah MB," she said in reference to Mukhriz Mahathir who was forced to resign his post as Kedah menteri besar.
