PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has again threatened to reveal documents protected under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) that allegedly show 1MDB admitting how it is linked to the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT).
Rafizi claimed the documents in his possession would show the reason why 1MDB has purportedly yet to pay its debts to Perbadanan Perwira Harta Malaysia (PPHM), a subsidiary of LTAT.
The Pandan lawmaker added that he believes both 1MDB and LTAT have yet to respond to his allegations because they know that he possesses the documents.
"I believe 1MDB and LTAT have not given any statements responding to my revelation because both know I have the documents to prove my claims.
"Usually, 1MDB and LTAT will release their statements as quick as lightning, other than threaten legal action," he added in a statement today.
Rafizi said he would wait for the responses from 1MDB and LTAT to the documents.
He is still waiting for LTAT to announce how many Armed Forces retirees have not been paid their contributions to the fund since 2014.
'I will reveal, even though OSA classified'
Yesterday, Rafizi said if LTAT failed to do so, he would reveal the contents, even though the documents are protected under the OSA.
"I will not hesitate to reveal the official federal documents if LTAT does not disclose the list (of what I asked for) fully to the rakyat.
"This document is classified under the OSA, and I will bear full responsibility for (disclosing) it," he added.
Rafizi also read out a passage from the document which supposedly touched on the payment of claims from PPHM on the cost of development for the relocation of five sites, one of which is an air base.
He also mentioned parts of the document allegedly referring to outstanding payments that 1MDB still owed PPHM.
LTAT has denied Rafizi's claims, saying instead that all of 1MDB's payments to PPHM are up to date and the fund has fulfilled all its payments to the Armed Forces retirees.
Malaysiakini has emailed questions on this to 1MDB and is awaiting its response.
