Suspended Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin was not present to defend himself at yesterday's Umno supreme council meeting because he was overseas .
Hours before the hammer fell on Muhyiddin though, a photo of him was uploaded together with ousted former Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir.
The photo, uploaded on the Mukhriz Mahathir FC Facebook page, shows the duo on what appears to be a ship at sea.
Mukhriz's aide had told Malaysiakini that the former Kedah MB was also overseas yesterday.
It however cannot be ascertained when the photo was taken.
The Mukhriz Mahathir FC page claims to be Mukhriz's official fan club, and frequently uploads his press statements.
Muhyiddin was suspended from his post as Umno deputy president yesterday for continuously speaking out against party president Najib Abdul Razak.
This comes seven months after he was axed as deputy prime minister for criticising Najib's brainchild, 1MDB.
Mukhriz himself was removed as Kedah Menteri Besar earlier this month for similar reasons.
Both are aligned with Mukhriz's father, former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is waging an ongoing battle to oust Najib.
