Najib Abdul Razak congratulated the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) for declaring a high dividend rate of 6.40 percent for 2015 despite the economic challenges.

He wanted EPF to continue efforts to provide the best returns to all its contributors.

"Congratulations EPF for declaring the high 6.40 percent dividend for 2015 despite facing economic challenges. Continue efforts to give good returns to contributors," he said in his latest tweet today.

Yesterday EPF declared a dividend rate of 6.40 percent for 2015 with payments totalling RM38.24 billion.

A total of RM5.98 billion is required to pay every one percent dividend rate for the year concerned, an increase of 10.13 percent compared to RM5.43 billion in 2014.
