Police have secured a three-day remand order for Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) central committee member Khairul Nizam Abd Ghani.
In a statement today, PSM said the remand was granted by a Johor Baru magistrate.
Khairul Nizam was arrested under the Sedition Act at his residence in Kelantan yesterday.
According to PSM, Khairul’s second in arrest in as many weeks was due to a Facebook posting in June.
However it is not what Facebook posting this was.
Khairul was detained on Monday last week for criticising the October arrest of fellow PSM activist Khalid Ismath that was similarly made under the Sedition Act.
Apart from being detained under the Sedition Act, Khairul was also detained under the Communications and Multimedia Act as soon as he arrived to give his statement at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.
Khairul was however released the next day after the magistrate rejected a remand application by the police.
