A Selangor Umno assemblyperson has expressed concern that Menteri Besar Azmin Ali may boot PAS out of the Selangor government.
Azmin's failure to answer the status of PAS in the Selangor government gives the impression that there is a hidden agenda - that PAS may be removed from the state, Dengkil assemblyperson Shahrum Mohd Sharif told Umno Online yesterday.
Shahrum speculated that this could be because PAS is no longer part of the main opposition pact, now dubbed Pakatan Harapan.
The allocation of eight local council seats to Amanah may also pave the way for Azmin to boot PAS out of his line-up of state executive councillors, he said.
"When (local council) seats are given to Amanah, then it is not impossible that Amanah will also demand for exco seats. Which party will be the sacrificial lamb?
"It's not likely that DAP's seats are in jeopardy because the public knows that DAP won't give up what it holds.
"The victims will therefore be PKR, and PAS, which is now being given the cold shoulder," Shahrum ( photo ) said.
Selangor state executive councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah announced that Amanah would get eight local council seats instead of the 24 the party was seeking.
However, Malaysiakini understands that Amanah is still negotiating for more seats.
