Activists are questioning why hill slope projects are still being given the nod by the Penang government, despite a policy stating that developments 250ft (76m) above sea level and on slopes steeper than 25ft were not allowed.
University don Sharom Ahmat said today although Penang municipal councillor Lim Mah Hui had made an impassioned plea to stop hill-clearing activities, '… quite clearly little or nothing has been done'.
