Former Umno supreme council member Saifuddin Abdullah has defected to opposition party PKR because of the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion scandals.

Asked why he left Umno, Saifuddin said: "(Because of) the way they deal with the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion issues."

Putting speculation to rest, Saifuddin formally announced his defection to PKR today.
