Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar today stressed he was ready to meet the head of the special taskforce investigating the 1MDB issue.
He said he would contact Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed soon on the matter.
"There is no problem if I am called, I will attend, at the appropriate time. I will contact Abu Kassim, I do not know who will initiate the meeting," he said.
Khalid was speaking to reporters after attending the pinning-of-the-rank ceremony for Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim for the post of inspector in Johor Baru today.
Yesterday, Abu Kassim said he would hold a meeting with the head of the special taskforce entrusted with investigating the 1MDB issue, which included Khalid, Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz and attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali.
Abu Kassim said the meeting would re-activate the special task force which included the MACC, so as to resolve issues connected to the 1MDB.
