KINIBIZ Bank Negara Malaysia governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz said at panel discussion that the public have a right to know results of various investigations.

“We have looked at contraventions to approvals of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and have submitted them to the AG’s Chambers,” she said.

She added the international community is coming together to deal with money laundering,

“In this day and age, there is no place anywhere that people can hide,” she said.

With regards to the ringgit, she said that if we resolve all issues, including 1MDB and political issues we will recover.

Fundamentals are strong, economy is strong, our financial system is resilient, banking system is strong, we have built up our reserves, she said, adding that the uncertainty is the US Federal Reserve is delaying its rate increase and now we have to wait for that.
